Nashua, N.H. — A wedding at the Sky Meadow Country Club turned tragic when a gunman opened fire on Saturday evening, leaving one guest dead and others fleeing in panic.

According to authorities, the suspect entered the upscale venue during a private wedding reception and began shouting political slogans before firing multiple rounds. Witnesses reported chaos as guests rushed to take cover, with some barricading themselves inside the banquet hall.

Police confirmed that one guest was fatally shot before the gunman was subdued and taken into custody. No other serious injuries were immediately reported, though several people were treated at the scene for minor injuries sustained while attempting to escape.

The suspect’s identity has not yet been released, but investigators described him as an armed intruder not invited to the event. Motives remain under investigation, though officials noted that the suspect shouted “Free Palestine” before opening fire, raising questions about whether the attack was politically motivated.

Governor Chris Sununu condemned the violence, calling it a “heinous and senseless act” that shattered what should have been a celebration of love and family. “Our hearts go out to the victims and all those impacted,” he said in a statement late Saturday night.

Sky Meadow Country Club, a popular wedding and event venue in Nashua, remained closed Sunday as police and crime scene investigators continued their work. The venue has pledged full cooperation with authorities.

The name of the victim has not yet been released pending family notification. Local officials said grief counselors would be made available to witnesses and family members traumatized by the shooting.
